Buy 1070 or wait?

Hi, I currently have an i5-7500 and a GTX 1050 with 8GB RAM, and am looking to massively upgrade my GPU. I would like to spend approx £250, and am currently very tempted to purchase a used GTX 1070 for around that price. With the upcoming AMD releases (which could be nice with my FreeSync 144Hz) and possibility of a well-priced GTX 1160, should I buy the 1070 now, or wait for other cards to come out?

I'd wait. At the very least, the RTX2060 officially launching tomorrow may drive prices down.

Also Nvidia will start supporting FreeSync tomorrow. Since you've got a 144Hz panel, it's highly likely they'll include your model on their "auto enable" whitelist.

Thanks, I have a ViewSonic XG2401 monitor, will both the 10xx series and the 20xx series support Freesync from tomorrow?
