I have been researching my perfect computer for months now and I pretty much know what components I want for a gaming computer: gtx 970 and i5 4690K. However, this build would cost me like $ 1200-1500 and I already know that nVidia and AMD have announced new gpus and cpus which will be 2-4 times as good as the current generation, and will require special motherboards which won't be compatible with an i5.

Should I wait for two years for this new stuff to come out? When it does come out, won't it be expensive, or will there be components the same price but superior to gtx 970 and i5 4690K?

To be specific, I wanted to be able to play games for the next 3 years on ultra locked at 30 fps.

There is little to no performance difference between the different variations of the same card. Like 1-4fps max.
