Currently running 2 gtx 760's in sli. While playing watchdogs I experienced an extreme drop in fps to single digits. Should I replace my sli setup for a used Evga GTX 780 or buy a new MSI GTX 970 gaming edition card?

Solution
If you are planning to buy a new one then get gtx 970 beacause it has a better performance than gtx 780 & it will actually cost you less than Gtx 780.
MSI Gtx 970 is worth choice than their other competitor as it is has Twinfrozr V series in it.
It Keeps your Card 10% extra cool than its preceding Twinfrozr VI series.
If it is dropping to single digits then it might be your game problem, Gtx 760 is a good card & it does not cause any problem @ 1080p resolution & you are telling that you are running two gtx 760 in sli, running two 760 will definitely increase the performance, it seems its your Watch dog game which have trouble initself.
If this problem is occurring in other games then try to run one card at a time & check whether this problem still persists. It might be your one card which may be defective .
Sometimes your mobo is unable to handle two cards simultaneously.

If you are interested to buy a new card then i will recommend you to buy new card instead of used one.
MSI GTX 970 is a high end card, it will be higher in cost but also give you higher performance .

This is the first time I had a problem with my sli setup. Running a MSI Gtx 760 Hawk with an Evga Gtx 760 SC. I have the Evga card overclocked to match the Hawk's speed. It's been stable for 8 months. My motherboard is an Msi z87-GD65 with an i5-4670K @ 4.2 GHz & 16gb of ram @ 2133 Mhz. My setup runs all of my games at 80-110 fps. The frame drop in watchdogs happens while driving, especially when trying to escape from the cops. So I'm a little frustrated by this. I've tried loving the settings from ultra to high and medium. Still no fix. I was thinking a single card setup with more ram would fix the issue while reducing power consumption and heat.

get to this link.
The game itself has many issues including your graphic problem, many of my mates are facing several Graphics problem.
So don't worry about your GCs, its working fine.

You should also try "The Worse game mod".It might help you.

I finally got the game to run somewhat smoothly. I used Nvidia Inspector and set the Sli compatibility bits (DX1x) to Assassin's Creed 4 and its running at an average of 59-60 fps. That's also after reducing the texture and shadow quality. During the cut scenes there are some graphical anomalies but I can live with it in order to finish the game. Looks like I won't getting rid of my sli setup just yet. I'm still going to look into a GTX 970. I'm intrigued by the low consumption of a card that is more powerful than the GTX 780.
