Hi i recently built a new computer with a 5080 and it would boot through intergrated graphics but no display through my gpu, so i had my gpu and motherboard pci slot tested and the motherboard detects other gpus and other gpu works on other motherboards fine as well . the guy that tested them told me that i needed a gen5 to gen5 pci gpu power cable, i have a phanteks 1200w platinum power supply which says that it supports gen5 pcie. so im just a little confused what a gen 5 to gen5 cable looks like any help would be huge thanks

Is this;
the PSU you have?

In that case a PCIe5 cable is the 16pin connector that goes onto an RTX4000/RTX5000 series GPU. The name of the connector has slightly changed but the connectors design has stayed the same(to an extent). Since you own an RTX5080, didn't you get an adapter with your GPU? If not, this is the cable you're looking at;

12V-2x6

Out of curiosity, what cable were you working with prior to having it tested by tech support/a shop?

Moved thread from Graphics cards section to Power Supplies section.

Thanks and sorry, I sorted my problem.
I basically had to plug my cable the other way around and the dongle baited me into thinking it went into the gpu when it just had to go the other way around, simple mistakes sometimes. I also had the pc sent out to a tech guy and he didnt notice it at all so i feel less stupid, but thank you for reaching out
