Buying a new monitor 1080p/1440p

I'm currently using a 22" 1080p monitor, but I read that a 24" is most common for this resolution. Will buying a 24" 1080p monitor be a step back for me, since I'm used to a higher pixel-density? Or is it a neglectable difference?

Also, is it worth it to upgrade to 1440p? This means that I will have to spend way more on both a new monitor and a new PC (since it should be able to handle 1440p 60+ fps).

Btw I'm not interested in 144hz, I play single-player games most of the time and feel like 75hz is enough.

It's small, but it's not the end of the world. I'm solid in the 1080 or 4k camp. I wouldn't bother with 1440/2k. I use three 25" 1080 monitors on my desk. 20-22" is small but I don't think I'd bother trying to get a new one that's just a couple inches bigger. I doubt it would be worth it.

I absolutely love my 1440p monitor - destroys the 22” 1080p that I had. But, things like that are highly subjective.

Wouldn’t bother with a 24 since you already have a 22. But... you might go to a store and look at a 27” 1080p. Some folks can clearly see the pixels but others don’t notice.

I would never go for a 27" 1080p monitor, for me it's deciding between 1080p 24" (or smaller) versus 1440p 27". But with 1440p, from what I've heard you can never go back to 1080p. But 1440p would mean spending more money on a new pc now and in the future too to stay capable of getting 60 fps...
