I finally managed to save so much that I can buy a new system.

Can you guys please tell me if this is a solid gaming rig that will hold on for a few years?

a solid high-end build.
go for the lowest latency RAM you can afford, preferably >/=6400.

your PSU is going to be a major factor with this setup.
what unit did you have in mind?

If your primary use will be gaming then look at the 7800x3D, 9800x3D, or even the 9700X seeing how the 14900K is a heat producing power hog. Keep in mind the RTX 5090 and 5080 is due for release this January.

I would not recommend Intel right now. They’ve had issues with cpu degradation the last couple of generations.

Is this a pre built system, or a list of parts that you will assemble yourself?
What is the make/model of the psu?

Regardless, the parts represent the very best gaming available today.

Do not worry about 13/14gen fud issues. That is old news, the issues have been fixed.
Just be certain that the motherboard bios is current.

7800x3d would be my choice over the 9800x3d ..

My reasoning behind the 7800x3d over the 9800x3d is that if your looking at a 4090 your not going to be playing in 1080p and from most of the benchmarks ive seen once you start leaning on the 4090 more 1440p and 4k the gains are little in over FPS and 1% lows to basically nothing in 4k !!

Stay away from Intel .. AMD AM5 socket is rumoured to still accept ZEN 6 so thats 7000series 9000series and 10000series ( ??? i guess thats the name ) so life span will be much better !

2x16gb ram cl 30 6000 is both the sweet spot and more than enough for gaming !! ( g skill ram is some of the best and ive used alot of it )

get the x670e which will save $$$ as the 870 boards while have a few more little features nothing that is game changing..

Asus rog boards have been good to me and i do have a soft spot for the MSI Tomahawk series boards my
MAG X570 Tomahawk wifi board was a champ !!

PSU ( is a real interest to me now ) as a builder of many PC's now ( just rebuilt my main and pics in members system thread ) 1000w psu for the 4090 is okay i always overkill my PSU's 1000w platinum is what im currently using in my system ( check my sig ) but the 5090 which im going to move to from AMD next year will make me debate on what wattage i want .

Ive been using the 1000w for quite a few years now with no issues

My logic ( even if weird to some ) is the 2200w seasonic prime ( $1000aud ) seems like a massive overkill but being as its comes with a 12 year warranty and being the said 2200w 80 plus platinum rated it will be the last PSU i will need to buy in a LONG time !!

That said with the 5090 and a chance you may want to upgrade or wait for it i would recommend something over 1000w platinum 1300w 1500w at the very least !!

Arctic freezer ii or iii still the best value price to performance AIO's on the market and with the arctic freezer iii it finally got prettier .. no fancy LCD stuff but a really good looking / performing AIO !!

just the manufacturer alone means nothing in regard to the quality of a power supply.
all manufacturers/distributors offer low quality, even dangerous, options.

im not 100% sure of all of corsairs line up but the most common rm750w to the hx 1000 watt PSU's 80 gold to 80 platinum are solid !!

As ive used them all many times over many builds and no issues !!

Most ( not all ) issues that arise from PSU related issues starts with " im building a 14900k with a 4090 but i want to use a cheap just enough wattage PSU because ive blown most of my budget on the components not the life blood of the PC" ..

or simply not understanding power spikes etc etc that can cause issues by using that just enough wattage PSU

Lemons are part of any company im not saying all corsair PSU's ( expensive or not ) are perfect but just my experience is that a decent PSU is less likely to fail !!

by no means am i telling people to buy a 2200w psu for a low end pc but be sensible !!

most issues relating to power supplies are caused by low-end manufacturing that make the rated wattage not equal to what they can actually provide,
protections that do not function properly,
and early extended wear due to that low-end manufacturing causing them to die often taking connected components with them.

people buying too low of a wattage unit is an entirely different ballgame.

yes, and almost all companies have lower tiered units available that are not decent in any way for a gaming type, or sometimes any type, system.
not just "lemons" that happen to be a single faulty unit.
but entire lines of units that all suffer from the same defects and built-in hazards

the specific model of the PSU, and even what year it may have been produced, is always a large factor.
