Buying my next monitor

I've decided to invest into a new monitor and I am in a big dilemma.

I have a budget of around 500€ and I am set on buying a 27' or 32' monitor with 144Hz refresh rate.

The problem comes with choosing the resolution and the panel type.
The problem with resolution is that I usually play games on 1080p or even lower (CS:GO 1280:960)
and I don't know if it is worth to get a 1440p monitor or is 1080p enough. I would only use 1440p in singleplayer games. Is there a big difference? How do games look like when they are not on native? Is it worth 150€ difference?

The second problem is VA vs IPS. I just don't know witch one to get. What are the pros and cons?

Thank you for all of your answers!

first of all, what is your graphics card, and can it put 60fps on 1080p? afor my situation, native always looks better, i concluded

Ips has the best image quality, so if you are like doing editing, or playing from other angles this could be the thing for u. if you are a full gamer, tn panels should be better because they have the lowest response time and higher refresh rates, for your budget, i would recommend a frame sync compatible monitor depending on ur gpu

I don't want a TN panel because the colors don't look good. I'm firm between IPS or VA.
I've heard that VA are better because of contrast and black reproduction.

I think you would prefer 240hz on a 570 usd budget, rog has this- https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hMYWGX/asus-rog-swift-pg258q-245-1920x1080-240hz-monitor-pg258q

alienware has- https://pcpartpicker.com/product/q6wqqs/alienware-aw2518h-245-1920x1080-240hz-monitor-aw2518h
they are 1080p, tn displays, but 240hz check them out they should give you the most competitive advantage, with g sync.

for freesync- https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Lnvbt6/asus-rog-strix-xg248q-238-1920x1080-240-hz-monitor-xg248q
for me, I think 23.8 is the optimal screen size

first of all, I know they are tn but tn panels have much less input lag and all the monitors on pcp for at least 120hz, 1080p, 1440p g sync, all of them are 4ms response time. if you are looking literally sraight at these monitors, definetly consider getting the 1080p 240hz 1ms g sync asus rog or the alienware monitors, their colors, i think it can be adjusted and the monitors can be tilted, and give you even a better advantage than 120hz looking the smoothest on the market, same with the va panels btw, and they also exceed your price point of approx. 571usd

if you are like a professional or, want to have maximum color accuracy on each viewing point, and accept the low input lag and sacrifice the money for less refresh rate and have more color accuracy, you can get an ips panel. and also, tn panels are meant for gaming, not ips panels really, ips panels are meant for professional use.
