So I currently have 2x8 DDR4 2133 ram in my computer which has been fine and that I've been using for the past few years. Just ordered 2x8 DDR4 3600 and was wondering should I completely take out the 2133s and replace them with the 3600s or is it better to use them all if I can? (total of 32gb)

If needed, CPU is i5 9600k, motherboard is MSI MPG z390 gaming PLUS and ram sticks are same brand (corsair vengeance). Thanks for the help!

Solution
Memory manufacturers don't guarantee compatibility when adding extra memory to existing memory.

i5 9600k
Supported memory: DDR4-2666

Memory speeds over 2666MHz are for overclocking. Anyone running 2133MHz would be achieving sub-par performance.

Thanks for the reply. I got a new cpu and motherboard awhile ago so I knew my old ram was lacking but I wasn’t sure how much by. Your comment really helped me out, thanks.
