I've looked around and i know this question has been asked many times. But should I just spend $140aud from a reputable computer place for windows 10 or look into buying it on ebay/kinguin or g2a?

kinguin/G2A offer a warranty you can buy for when their codes are cancelled, that says it all to my mind. Right now, and for an unknown period of time, you can use win10 without activation, and activate later once purchased properly.

The bottom line is they are not Legit Keys and not Authorised by MS.
You can use Windows 10 albeit with some small restrictions. My advice is to Instal the OS and use it till you can afford a legit copy.

Agree with the others. Buy from a reputable supplier, if needed use it non activated for a while.

Regarding the Win 10 Unactivated concept...I have a Win 10 Pro installed in a VM, to test exactly this. What happens and for how long.

Installed on Dec 8, 2016, and still running exactly the same as Day 1. So far.
