I built my new computer about 2 months ago and everything worked fine.

Specs
MBD: ASRock B650
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
GPU: RX 7800 XT
RAM: 32GB
PSU: Seasonic Focus GX 850w

Today i freaked out when i heard a buzzing or zapping sound from behind of my pc( it kinda sounded like two flies fighting, something like that if u know what i mean), my keyboard stopped working until replugged it btw it isn't new that my keyboard just stops working until i replug it, it was happening before even on my old PC but the buzzing sound never happened at least i did not hear it until today. As i mentioned i freaked out and because everything else was working normally.

I tried to recreate that sound and i did after i turned off my pc and turned it back on, i heard the buzzing sound again but couldnt pinpoint where it was comming from so i placed my pc on the desk, took the side panel off and tried to recreate it again but with no success. I turned off and on my pc about 30 times and i could not recreate the sound again. Tried playing intensive games so my pc gets hot even then i could not recreate it. What is going on? Can that cheap mechanical keyboard be the problem? Can the actual usb port cause a buzzing/zapping sound?

Pretty much the only thing that can make a noise in the pc is a fan. Could be a wire is touching a fan or something else is in them. Could also just be a defective fan. If you can stop each fan individually with software that might be simplest to test. Other wise press on the center of the fan to stop it from spinning or very carefully put something plastic into the fan to block it.

If you were to have some kind of electrical short you would smell it and it would eventually stop just because it burned out whatever was shorting.

Some people can hear what is called coil whine but it generally is not considered a buzzing sound. You have to be very young for your ears to still be able to hear coil whine.

Could be a defective fan because i checked for wires touching the fan blades, none are close enough.

I just noticed something. I took down the front panel on my Corsair 4000D airflow case and the front filter had a lot of dust where the 1 fan is. I accidentally pushed on the mesh filter and i think i recreated the sound that i was hearing when the fan blade hit the mesh filter, it is very similar. Is it possible thats what i was hearing? But then again if the fan sucked in the filter wouldnt it always suck it in andmake that sound and not just for a second or two?
