I've got a problem with a new FIC k8-800T motherboard. I'm aware that this
is a fairly common problem, and I know that in order to fix it, I have to
flash the BIOS.

The problem is that when I enter CMOS, if I save changes and exit, the
computer no longer boots. All I get is a blank screen, and I have to reset
the BIOS in order to do anything.

In order to flash the BIOS, I have to disable the BIOS Guardian. But
because of the problem I'm trying to fix, I can't do it using CMOS setup.

Is there some other way to bypass or disable the BIOS Guardian?

Thanks!

Here's a follow-up, in case anybody out there needs it.

You can download an updated BIOS from FIC's website.

There's a utility on the CD included with the motherboard called WinFlash.
That utility will flash the BIOS despite the Guardian. There's also a DOS
utility, but I didn't try it.

My problem is solved now, no thanks to FIC's tech support.
