Bypassing login passcode for ps4

My kid was messing around on my ps4 an apparently changed my login passcode ...so I'm told going thru I think it was default settings because I'm offline im able to bypass it to factory an set up a new one if this is true how do I do this an if I do this will erase my in app games with all my saved progress.........
Worked to hard to start my games all over again so please help me
