Cable management and cpu temps.

Any suggestions on my cable management? I've been having trouble with the heat and noise my pc has been producing. I have decided to act on my problem now because I read somewhere that high temps cause your cpu to throttle, resulting in low frame rates.

That style case does not lend itself well to cable management... for obvious reasons you probably are already aware of. It looks like the collection of cables is blocking most of the intake fan air flow (if you have a front fan). Does the case allow for a side fan or top fans? Or a bottom fan? Somewhere else to pull in fresh air?

I don't think I have any extra space in my case. How would you even check if you could add an extra fan? Would there be something to mount it on inside the case?

I have a DIYPC solar M1-R black/red. It was about 40 dollars when i purchased it. It's kind of cheaply made but it saved me some cash for the other components in my rig.

This is one of my PCs

its nice to hide the cables its a older Corsair 550D
zip ties , Velcro , and tape help also
a PSU fully module helps
I even drilled my own holes in the case and bought rubber grommets to run the USB cable and HDD lights ect

hope it helps

I guess you're out of luck for adding any more intake fans then. That case has no other places for installing a case fan. And a solid top; that too adds to the heat issue. Warm air rises, and a vented top would at least allow some to escape.

Best you can do is try to tie the cables out of the way of the front intake fan. So that air flow can get into the case better. But with a solid top case, temps will always be a bit warmer than necessary. Keep the fans on full speed if it isn't too noisy. Changing the case may be more than you are willing to go thru, but that is the best solution.

I had an old case that I needed to use that was similar to yours. I hole-sawed a 5-1/4" hole in the top and just put a fan GRILL in the opening. That alone relieved the temp issue quite a bit.
