Just upgraded my PC, got a new mobo (Sabertooth 990FX R2.00, CPU ( AMD FX 9590 ), PSU (EVGA Nex 750b) and cooling corsair H80i. My computer randomly freezes, like I can't move the curor or do anything other than restart.. and the same cycle continues. In the even logs I have found this:
"Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor ID: 5"

What does this mean? What should I do, is there a fix to this?

Solution

I can't say for certain as I was under the impression that AMD relaxed the pyramidal cache design for the FX series microprocessors but intuition tells me that your CPU is a lemon. This isn't all that surprising considering that it's little more than a stupidly overclocked FX-8350. It probably should have failed during the binning process and not been sold as a 9590. If you want to proof this, downclock it to around 4Ghz and see if it stabilizes.

Solution

That's exactly what I ended up doing. I had to RMA the first cpu, the 2nd one was a bit more stable but still had to downclock it in order for it to be stable and this is while having H80i. AMD is garbage I wish I've spent more money and went with Intel.
