call of duty advanced warfare very low fps nearly unplayable on r9 290 trix with i5 3570k cpu and 8gb ram on ultra settings why?moreover the game utilisation of cpu is around 95% and ram is 3.5gb any help?
supersampling is an enthusiast feature. Its not meant to be maxed out! If you're playing at 1920x1080 then 4x supersampling is 3840x2160 while 8x supersampling is 7680x4320 unless its using similar SS to arma then its even worse as 4x SS is more likely 1920x4x1080x4. You get the picture...
There's nowhere near enough gpu horsepower to run at these resolutions unless you're using GTX 980 4-way SLI
thanks but why turning everything ultra is making it so slow comparing with other games .it seems to me like that i am playing on processor graphics rather than a gpu .if it can't play this game what about games in future

Yeah supersampling in this game is very resource hungry. I also question your monitoring technique if you're only reading 3.5GB RAM usage.
The game uses tons of RAM and erratically so. I've seen Task Manager show over 5GB just when the game is minimized with no action or cutscenes playing.
I've been recommending using the "optimal" setting until a performance patch is released for all those but the ones with very extreme spec.
it never crossed 3.5 gb of ram but the processor usage is around 85% andwith supersampling x16 cpu usage got to 95%.the screenshot was taken while playing last mission wth x4 supersampling

First please indicate exactly what tool you were using and whether it said RAM, VRAM, or just memory? Some tools that show real time results on screen only show video memory, and that is not RAM, it's VRAM.

yes you are right its vram, which software to benchmark ram ?is there any game that will need more like 8gm ram to play in up comming year.i had seen this game on playstation of my friend which was like 1/4rth the cost of pc and looked better ,though they are optimized for consoles.this game is standalone in pc requrements and others will follow .it s just like forcing to buy consoles rather than pc
You can see how much RAM has been used just by minimizing the game and opening Task Manager. It's not the same as real time onscreen tools, but it's graph shows usage history, so it can suffice.
There's also a couple taskbar tools called Taskbar Meter and RAM/CPU Taskbar. There's a tool called My Memory Monitor as well that can show results in the systray or onscreen.
I've only ever used Task Manager though, which is usually sufficient to get an idea if a game is hogging RAM. Might want to check for reviews if you want to try any of these, because I've never used them before.
I had the same problem as you. Tried everything to just simply turning all settings off and still didn't solve it. You need more ram 8gb isn't enough. I had 8gb and recently added another 8 and now I never get that low fps or stuttering. The game isn't actually that demanding on the cpu or gpu once you have the ram because it's just memory hungry. I've seen it peek at 9gb ram and regularly goes over 8 which I believe caused the low fps and crashing for me when I only had 8gb
