Can’t add second hard drive

So I ordered a second hard drive to backup all my files onto and I plugged everything in but when I boot it up it says “Non-System disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready” but if I unplug the second hard drive it all goes back to normal

You can "inform" the UEFI or BIOS the boot order; make sure the added, 2nd, hard-drive is at the bottom of the list.

What is this new second drive type?
