This may not be a problem when it comes to Windows 11, but the process to get there. I recently built my first PC, I was able to get it booted up correctly and get into the BIOS, but when I try to install Windows from there, I get stuck in a boot loop, where it’ll turn on for a few seconds, and turn off for a few seconds, then repeat for a long time. I let it go for 40 mins once. Then turned it off.

Now, I can only get to BIOS when I plug in a flash drive with the latest version of bios, and I do a flash bios. It then resets and I can turn it on and go into BIOS by pushing the “Delete” key. If I save from there without changing anything, it goes back into the boot loop. Nothing I do can get it out of this loop. Where I then again have to flash bios and get back there.

I have tried taking RAM out of the sockets and reinserting them, and tried running with one, without the other, and vice versa. Now the boot loop has stopped, the power will turn on, but the EZ Debug lights for CPU and DRAM are turned on and it’ll stop turning itself on.

CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X
RAM: 2 x 8GB DDR5
Mobo: MSI Pro B650M-A WiFi

Not sure if anything else matters, but let me know in the comments

Please anybody have any suggestions? This is my first PC and I’m going crazy not being able to figure this out.

Remove the video card and use the on-board video (use one of the motherboard ports to attach to your display) to see if that makes any difference in the behavior.

Regardless, I would still swap the memory as previously mentioned.

Good PSU. GPU should alo be good, but lets remove for now for troubleshooting.

I had a similar ( from your description) problem except the os would install part way(installing features) but refused to use complete and I saw the... pc encountered an unexpected error or restarted..., and go into a loop. I discovered that all the usbs on case top and the MB I/O rear panel were intermittent in operation. My psu a 750 w. three yrs old was retained for my new build .( mistake) After replacing with a new gold modular 850W. psu , the os prblem was solved, and I've been running without a hitch. Hope this helps.

I ordered that new memory, and will have to return my current memory later today.

I will disconnect my GPU for now, but I haven’t been connecting my display through the GPU, just through the motherboard for now anyways.

Thanks everyone for the help! I actually got this all figured out! I did a couple different things. I had plugged my monitor into my GPU, and double checked all the plugs to make sure they were in all the way. Apparently when moving things around the power to the MB came a little loose.

A more common occurrence that you might think. Glad you found it.
