Can a computer virus stop the monitor, the keyboard and the mouse from working?

My computer monitor, keyboard and mouse stopped working suddenly while watching a video on line! What can it be? The tower seems to come on but no display or anything!

Are you able to enter the BIOS or doesn't the monitor even boot?

monitor starts but no display! lights on the keyboard and mouse don't come ON like they have no power. Checked all connections and seem to be good!

Is your monitor connected to your motherboard or graphics card?
