Can a DVI-D Dual link to DisplayPort support 144hz?

I have a DVI-D Dual Link to DisplayPort cable and was wondering if i could get 144hz with it. This is my first time having a monitor that can display 144hz so i don't know much about it.
The monitor is a BenQ XL2411Z.

I dont know for sure, it should be ok http://www.144hzmonitors.com/knowledge-base/144hz-1080p-which-cable-do-i-need/. It is not expensive try a dvi-d dual link if it is not working then go for displayport.

My monitor does not have a DisplayPort, which is why i went for this cable. I guess i just have to get a new cable.
