So short story i've been having some issues with my pc i get the windows 10 recovery error , but that's not why i'm here . i wanted to know if a faulty / bad / dead cpu can even post to that ? i mean i can get past the bios ( CPU recongized in BIOS ) to the windows 10 LOGO and i get stuck there
Can a bad CPU cause this kind of error ?
also i'm having some doubs about my motherboard cause it has some bent pins and 1 of them is missing ! is there a way to diagnose or to figure out what the missing / bent bins are for ?
Motherboard : ASROCK H81M-GL
cpu : Intel core i3 4170 .

Solution
...well...I'd say it is pointing to the CPU....but obviously I can't say 100%....but being you have a new motherboard...there isn't much left.

Your model processor is on EBay in the $40-$50 range.

....and I'm not sure how much more you can go with your MB as far as processors....but maybe now is the time to upgrade.

There are all sorts of "ways" a cpu can be "bad"...so yes....a "bad" cpu can probably get past the BIOS.

I would MUCH more focus on your bent/missing pins. Yes...even one pin can be very important. It can make the difference between working and not working....and even a bent pin can cause problems.

i've seen in numerous forums that if there is at least one missing pin the motherboard is basically dead and wont even give me a signal ! i had a problem with broken pins before and it cause the pc to bootloop , turns out the missing pin was related to the RAM
So the reason i asked is that i'm on a budget and i can only replace one part at the moment and i'm probably gonna go with the motherboard and hope things turns out good !

well i appreciate the help i'll post the results later , im probably gonna swing by the store for the motherboard and i'll post the result here , thank you

Sounds like you may need to reinstall Windows.

You could try a linux live distribution on a USB Flash Drive which just runs off the flash drive. This will let you know if your hardware is fine except for the HDD.

Could be your Windows installation is corrupted.

Well...the old motherboard was very questionable with a missing pin and other bent ones...so I wouldn't feel too bad about that...and now you know you have a good motherboard. It think it was the wise thing to do.

...and I like Corwin's idea of reinstalling Windows. This is what I would do next as well.

well i even tried that last night i installed a linux system on a USB and tried to boot it but i got an error on that aswell ! error was system halted or something like this ! i even tried installing windows 7 , i got the " windows loading files messages " and then its keeps looping same thing happening ! i also tried Memetest and i got like 600K errors ony my rams i tried them one by one and i saw in some forums that if you keep having alot of errors it could be the CPU thats causing them ! so should this be the confirmation that my cpu is kinda dead ?

well yeah i dont feel bad about changing the mobo but i kinda hoped it wouldnt be the cpu causing the problem
