Hey guys,

I want to get a led strip to give more light to my desk. Its quite dark and when I have to sit to study or something I feel like I really need more light.

The thing is, if I place the led strip close to my monitor screen, can it get damaged?

Solution
If the LED strip uses an adhesive then you're good. If they use magnets then just keep them away from touching the actual screen as that could damage it. You can run the magnets along the back or edge as long as they don't touch the screen.
The lights being on won't interfere with the monitor either.

Unless his monitor is a CRT, then magnets should have no effect on it. The images on an LCD screen are not formed by magnets.
