so I have a USB stick lying around, it's been through water damage as i forgot it was in my pant's pocket while it got washed. When I tried to check if it worked it didn't cause any problems, just that some files were corrupted, though I did that with an old pc (like DDR2 old) and here I am asking if it is safe to try using it on a modern PC ?

If you dried it thoroughly it won't do any harm to a PC, old or new.

But as regards the USB stick itself I personally would have binned it and bought a new one since they don't cost much.
My main concern would be it's reliability after getting thoroughly wet, that's all.
it seems to work pretty well, i've ran two tests on it on rufus and there are 0 problems
