One quick question here Jiffy.. are you running XP on both machines? The reason I ask is because it is really easy to see what your internet IP is on each machine on your network. If you bring up the connection status and click on the details tab it will show the client IP address. That will be the address your ISP assigns to your modem.

I use Win98se and 2000 I don't much about the IP addresses. I just know I use a hub and am able to run quit a few PC at once, though I only have two. I know the last time I went to dos ipconfig the addresses were different.

Ok.. there should be two sets of addresses... one for the local area network and one for the internet. The ones for your LAN will always be different for each machine, as each machine on the LAN requires a different IP address. The ones I'm interested in knowing are the ones listed for your internet connection. Are they all different for each machine on your LAN? Having two IPs would make sense for the price your paying per month... even maybe as many as four... the only way to know for sure would be to get that many machines together and hook them all up at once.

Another question.. are you using an 'always on' connection or PPPoE? Also.. are the IPs for each computer different every time you log on or are they the same? Just wondering if you have dynamic or static IPs on the internet.

My IP address's are different and I have unlimited. It is PoET and it changes each time I sign on. I also call my ISP before and they said I could hook up as many as I want.
