Stop using cars to explain computers. In automotive wolrd, you can't just say a Porche isn't faster than a Ferrari. Which Porche and which Ferrari are you talking about, because both companies are making a whole lot more than 1 model. And a car being fast has only little to do with it's engine.

:!: No point talking about future games price/performance, or even just performance, by the time they are available on the market in 9 - 18 months hardware will have improved by around +41.43% (9 months) to +100% (or double, at 18 months) - This is true for both AMD and Intel.

Didn't you make a prediction that the two chip system would use about the same amount of current as a single cpu system and get over twice the results? Thats a real shame becuse we all know that all of your other predictions are now fact.
Also are you sure that you really want to buy and use a system that will double the amount of electricity needed? I thouht that you and Al Gore were tight and shared some common interests in prediction and invention.
If a few hundred of these systems are unleashed it will probably step up the global warming situation and rip a hole in the ozone layer.

step one is as flawed as AMDs marketing and its current "high end" products. So your saying, ignore... yourself?
step two - i dont have to "imagine" cause my core 2 duo is quicker then your 4x4 system you dont own (check out the benchmarks, an x6800 gets close to the 4x4 system, half the cores, quater heat/power and its only at 2.93ghz! AND on the older FSB), and btw, even a 486 can get the "work done", depends on when you want it "done" by.
step 3 - perhaps it is you that needs to accept the reality as wishes and apply them - no amount of wishes will make that 4x4 into a decent efficent system.
The diffrence between you and me (and most others here) is the fact that if the AMD does come out with something faster, we gladly accept it as the winner, and buy it at the right price and dont care if its AMD or Intel, but you, your just a sore fanboy.

Baron, I live in two miles north of Eight Mile (remember that movie?). So I'm just north of Detroit and let's say we know a little something about the automotive industry. Automotive companies don't compete with themselves, they compete with each other. Why does GM have a research and development facility that takes up two square miles of the city I live in (Warren, Michigan)? It's to make better products than what their competitors make.
All companies are like that. Intel drives AMD to be better and AMD drives Intel to be better.

If you apply that logic then you'd be buying a Sempron or Celeron. Back when AMD had the best chips (which wasn't too long ago) you'd be touting the benchmarks, you'd be proudly displaying how the FX series was crushing the heat plauged Pentium 4 EE.
Well, the tables have turned. I'm sure they'll turn again, but the next year or so is going to be an Intel year until AMD can counter with something good (4x4 is not that something).

Wait a second. I thought Quad FX was going to be cheaper?
Four-thousand dollars for the FX-70? The low-end of the spectrum? The high-end FX-74 couldn't even come close to Core 2 Quad.
Ship date December 22? Hope this isn't a Christmas present cause you'd be paying a bunch for uber-fast shipping on a very heavy box.
