[SOLVED] can anyone help me with my external hard drive?

everytime I plug in my external hard drive to the computer, it alwas to long to load and than the screen just goes black and when I unplug the external than it goes back to normal

Have you tried taking the hdd out of the enclosure and connecting directly with sata?

Are you plugging it in after the desktop is reached?

Is the drive identified as connected/shown in 'Computer' ?

Many times a drive which contains data that can no longer be read will simply confuse/and eventually lock up WIndows Explorer...

YOu can try another USB port, and, even another computer. If multiple computer's lock up with this drive attached, it is likely failed/failing (USB external drives rarely have the longevity/service life that internal drives do)
