Hi Guys,

I've decided I want to try the 21:9 / 2560x1080 / Ultrawide HD aspect ratio, for more immersive gaming - Primarily used for gaming, but also watching movies etc...

So, can anyone recommend a monitor that they would say is a very good product for the gamer. So far I have the LG 29UM65-P in mind that you can see here - the 29 inch model.

My system specs are:

Intel i5 4460 @ 3.4GHz
EVGA ACX2.0 Nvidia GTX 970
16GB Crucial DDR3
XFX 650w Bronze 80+ PSU
Asus Z99 Gaming Pro MOBO

make sure you want to do this. A gtx 970 already starting to struggle to achieve60fps on latest titles gta5/the witcher 3 and probably furthermore games at standard 1080p. If you were running an i7 and ocing i would reccomend it. But be prepared to drop your graphics abit to achieve 60fps again.

I don't have one to recommend but I will let you know that I have not heard good reviews for the 2560X1080 resolution. From what I can tell it's a bit too wide for it's height. If I was going to go with 21:9 I would look at the 34" 3440X1440 monitors (unfortunately a bit more expensive, but great reviews so far with regards to immersion) otherwise I would stick with a 2560x1440.

GTA 5 never drops below 60 FPS on my 1920x1080 monitor fully maxed out (except Advanced Graphics) and Witcher 3 runs at 60 FPS too. It looks great at my current 1920x1080p.

I am planning on going 2 way SLI with an identical 970 so powering the 21:9 aspect wouldn't be a problem.

I play more Single player open world games so I'm just solely focused on the Immersion aspect

fair enough i don't have any to reccomend as i never used that resolution before.
Trust me advanced graphics hurts alot haha 😛 But best of luck with it, make sure to get the right PSU if your going to SLI otherwise you'll bite yourself 😛 enjoy tho :)
