Can Asus PBH67-ML E mobo be outfitted to make a gaming machine?

I have an older system based on the ASUS PBH67-ML E mobo, Intel I3 Processor, AMD Radeon HD 6800 graphics card. I'd like to know if I could upgrade this system to be a decent gaming machine or if I need to start from scratch.

It should game like it is, but struggle in some on the never games. A 6850/70 video card is fairly dated and not up to todays standards.
If you could find a cheap used i5 2500 or i7 2600 processor, have 8GB of memory, pop in a GTX 960 / R9 380 it should work just fine. (could need a BIOS update and new power supply)
 
thanks for the input. I've ordered the I5 processor and the GTX960, I already have 8GB of RAM. My P/S is only 380 W, any chance this will be enough? I only have 1 HDD and an optical drive. Am I correct in assuming that a SSD might be a good upgrade?
