Can broken pins increase CPU temperature?

CPU bent pin snapped off when i tried to unbend it. Afterwards my computer is abit hotter but my thermal paste is all messed up too.

Your CPU should not even be working if a pin is bent or snapped off the processor. It needs all those pins to function. How in the world did you 'bend a pin' in the first place, all CPU slots on computers today are ZIF (zero insertion force) slots.

Was doing an annual clean of my pc and everything went fine until i got to the cpu. I unlocked the heatsink with the lever but it was a little stiffer than usual to take out. I pulled (but not too hard) and the heatsink came out - But with the CPU attatched! I tried to seperate the two but whilst i was looking at it i noticed the CPU pins, a couple were slightly bent . After seperating I cleaned the heatsink etc and unbending the pins one snapped off!. I put the cpu back and it works perfectly fine only at normal desktop/internet use the temperature of the CPU is around 60 celcius!

I am using an AMD FX 6100

You either used too much paste or not enough, re clean and re apply.

Not true. A lot of those pins are power or ground and are essentially duplicates. If you are lucky a processor will still function fine if one is missing. It all depends upon which pin it is.

I actually didn't clean/reapply the previous paste. Should i?

They're not redundant, there are multiple power pins for a reason. CPUs draw quite a bit of power and need to distribute that power all over the chip in a very particular fashion. Breaking one of the pins shifts the current load to other pins and internal distributors, and may send the device out of spec which can cause problems. It may still work, or it may not.
