Hi!

I have Asus RX580 Dual 8GB. I have experienced some problems with it. When I play games that has good graphics my screen goes black and GPU fans starts running 100%.
I have also overclocked my CPU which is Ryzen 3 1200 from 3.1GHz to 3.8GHz. I wan't to know can CPU overclock cause that kind of GPU problems? Would it help if I reset my BIOS to defaults?
I have tried DDU, Windows reinstall, underclock GPU -11% frequency, undervolt, +50% power limit

PC parts:

GPU: Asus RX580 Dual 8GB 1366mhz
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.8GHz (OC)
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 16 GB dual channel running on 2666mhz
PSU: Aerocool vx plus 550w
SSD: 240GB
MOBO: Asus Prime B-350 Plus

Windows version: 20H2

I would appreciate if you can answer me!

Thanks!

Overclocking the CPU beyond its original spec can cause issues. Since the GPU still needs the CPU to tell it what to do, if those issues happen to crop up while processing GPU commands then yes, the CPU can cause the GPU, or rather the driver, to "crash."

The first thing I would test is to revert the CPU to the default settings to make sure the CPU is still fine. Then work with slightly lower speeds from 3.8 or increase the speeds from 3.1 to find out where the sweet spot is.

Update: I can now play games that crashed before immediately. Solution was I underclocked gpu -11% and ran fans at 90%. Now I can play games without crashes. But I will still buy new PSU because that Aerocool PSU is not good enough for my build.
