Can generic laptop battery charger ruin my original battery?

I want to use 2 power adapters for my laptop, one I keep in the bag, and one I keep at home.

One is original, and other one is generic brand.

They both work fine, same thing, generic one charges fine, doesn't overheat.

My question is, can the generic one damage the battery on the new laptop?

Yes , a generic battery charger could damage a battery and even the laptop.
That does not mean that your generic charger will cause any damage.
I have a couple of laptop generic charges, which I have used for a couple of years and they work as good as OEM.

I have seen some cheap generic chargers that did catch on fire, start melting, did not provide enough power to charge the battery, cause a short, etc...
