Can hear the hard drive stop and start when booting

When i boot the computer i can hear the hard drive stopping and starting but once the computer has booted it goes silent and can't be detected in the disk manager or in my bios.

hdd: Seagate 500GB, Desktop PC CCTV Internal Hard Drive HDD SATA 5900 3.5 ST3500312CS

Motherboard: asus B150M-C

CPU: i7-6700

I just bought it, it was a refurbished one but the guy said he tested it before he sent it out.

Does it show up in disk management in Windows?
And you just believed something a guy said instead of testing it out yourself.

It doesn't, and yeah he has sold 60 odd on ebay and no complaints.
