My setup: ASUS Rog Maximus Hero XI, Intel i9 9900k, rtx3080, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x16gb (3200), Windows 11.

I do gaming and video editing on this rig. I just purchased 2 sticks of Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x32gb (3600) to increase the memory for editing. I was planning just to swap the old ones out, but then I got to thinking, why not use all 4? Can I mix these speeds? And are there cons to going from 2 sticks to 4, even with increasing the GB size?

Thank you!

You have the means to try it out.
Intel is reasonably tolerant of mixed ram.

Balance the capacity on each channel.
The resulting speed will be the lower 3200.
That may be worth it if you can truly use all the ram.

Take the time to
Run memtest86+
It boots from a usb stick and does not use windows.
You can download it here:

If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your ram should be ok.

Running several more passes will sometimes uncover an issue, but it takes more time.
Probably not worth it unless you really suspect a ram issue.

Question asked here every day.
The answer remains the same - Maybe.

I tried exactly this recently.
Ryzen 5 5600X system,

Orig:
2x 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX - 32GB

Add:
2x 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX - 64GB

Total, 96GB

Boots up initially.
After a couple of minutes, ethernet cuts out.

Each pair works fine on its own.
Any combination of the 4, in any slot config...fails.
Totally repeatable.

System currently running on the 64GB set.
