can i change the gpu bus bandwidth??

i have an xfx r7 260x and i want to increase its bandwidth to 265bit i read alot of articles that say its impossible but i want to know why its impossible and what does make the gpu 128 or 265 is it a software or its made in the hardware and wich parts specifcly

It is the memory controller in the card, it hardware, not firm or software, no you can't change it, sorry......

the bus interface is hardware so your limited by the hardware used. if it is populated with a 128bit bus controller than thats what the card has. you cant just de-solder it and replace it with a 256 bit controller, you would have to change multiple other components as well as reprogram the bios.
so in essence the answer is no, you cant just swap out the 128 bit controller for the 256bit 1.

you cannot it is by design. overclocking your vga ram you can get increased bandwidth measured in gb/s which is what you really aim for!

actually iam not aiming in increasing the performance by card performs well iam just aiming for knowledge

sorry guy im not an engineer so i cant tell you off hand what parts need to be changed. just know its beyond most users on this forum to build a pcb for a gpu and thats basically what you would be doing.
