[SOLVED] Can I connect a ps3 controller to my iMac?

I want to play some games from Apple Arcade on my iMac, specifically NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition. However, I find it very uncomfortable to use a keyboard with this game. I want to use a controller, but I don't want to spend 150 dollars on 2 Xbox controllers. I was thinking about getting a ps3 controller, but I'm not sure if it will work with my iMac, let alone Arcade games like NBA 2K22. Could someone please tell me if ps3 controllers will work with the game, and under what conditions?
