Hi !

I build a new comp with Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 SATA 6Gb/s 1 To as HDD and Gigabyte GA-B150-HD3P as Mothercard.

I have a simple question and i cant find any anwser.

In my mother card i have : 1 x M.2 (Socket 3) - PCI-E 3.0 4x + SATA 6 Gb/s, 1 x SATA Express, 6 x Serial ATA 6Gb/s (SATA Revision 3.0).

Which is the best slot to plug my HDD and my disc player ? Sata Express is compatible ?

Thanks !

Hi there PierreG,

Well, you can do a little research on SATA Express. It supports speeds that your mechanical drive can't reach.
My suggestion would be to attach the drive to one of the SATA 6Gb/s (SATA 3) ports and you should be fine.
The SATA Express port is backward compatible with SATA 3. So, it you want to, you can attach it over there. Yet, there would be no point in that.
