I just ran a utility that finds duplicate files. The names and sizes are exactly the same, but each are in different directories. Can I delete all dups that are in these different directories?? What if a program/code calls for a file in a absolute path and it doesn't find it. Is code that smart these days that it will look in another location?
for example, qfe.exe is found in multiple files.
c:\DELL\drivers\R147115\gfe.exe
c:\DELL\drivers\R153908\HDAQFE\win2k_xp\us\gfe.exe
c:\Program Files\SigmaTel\C-Major Audio\HDAQFE\win2k_xp\us\gfe.exe
I know the answer may seem obvious, but I thought I'd better ask that to create havoc on my computer....
thanks for your advice!
