The microsoft sculpt is the best ergonomic keyboard i've ever used to gaming but if you dont hit a key for about 5 seconds it goes into low power mode and the first keystroke after that will be a half second delayed. Its a big problem. Is there anyway I can make it use a wire instead? I'll gladly open it up or waste money on an adapter.

Life is hard for gamers that like ergonomic keyboards. any help is appreciated

Have you tried going to Device manager.... searching for device and UNCHECKING option to allow computer to put it to sleep?

Goto device manager, click keyboard, click details and see if any of the pulldowns like you change the timeout value.

I think it unlikely you will find a way to convert to wired.

Also you can google "ergonomic keyboard " and see if anything comes close.
