can i enable AHCI from the bios with no problems?

i've installed windows 7 32 bit (not original) couple month ago..but i having some issue with my HDD..so I'm hoping if i enabled the AHCI instead of IDE
will improve performance .. can i do that without installing new windows? or i will have problems?

No, you`ll have to reinstall windows when you enable AHCI.

thanks, last question..is AHCI is better in performance than IDE? would i notice a better performance?

Theoretically you should see a slight improvemnet, real world, this isn't always the case. You do need AHCI to enable the TRIM fuction on SSD's. AHCI also enables NCQ, hot swap, and other advanced features of modern drives.
