This is related to the post i made last month about cpu/memory usage going over 50% and staying there even when i leave the system idle. I figured out what is causing this and it's related to a game that has known memory leak issues, once the game starts to slow down i usually exit it and give it some time before playing again... However sometimes even though I've closed the game the system usage is still high and the only way to remedy that is to shut down my pc for a bit and then boot it up again.
In task manager it looks like this: http://imgur.com/xv6RYgA
Obviously ''svchost.exe'' is using all the resources, so my question is, can i close that task and will closing that immediately fix the issue?

Solution
No, you will not be able to end task svchost.exe. This is a required system service.
Best solution is just to restart the system after you have played.

Figured as much, thanks for confirming.

there are workarounds i remember using for Origins memory problem. search for mods, may've been one created by now. also was a program i had used that assigned an extra 2GB of memory to the .exe with 64 bit systems. should be easy to find with web search.

Yes i am aware of LAA. It doesn't fix the problem, only - as you said, adds 2GB more of ram to the .exe. Basically giving you more time before the game gets the hiccups.
And i already finished the game once right before this without it... I'm on my second playthrough now at the Archdemon fight so I'm not gonna use it as I'm not sure if it'll mess up my save or the game. Doesn't matter as I'll uninstall the game after anyway.

you can stop the service yes, you should not end svchost task as it will create performance issues.
To stop the problematic service go to task manager>process(tab)>right click svchost using most resources>click go to services
Scroll throgh the services, the highlighted services are the services used by the svchost process disable services one by one and see which service worked and relived CPU/Memory.
Usually it is netsvc or wuaserv. If 'wuaserv' is the service then try this to solve it Permanently : http://abopc.blogspot.com/2016/05/windows-update-memory-leaksolved.html wuaserv is using resouces due to bug in windows update.MS fixed it in may 16.
