So I have an Hp elite 8000 small form factor (SFF) and im wondering if I can fit a gtx 960 in one of my pci slots. I appreciate the help

Solution
i don't believe there are "PCI" x16 slots. this refers to PCIe x16.

so, do not buy a PCI card. make sure it is PCIe.

Probably not. And besides the Core 2 Duo in the HP Elite 8000 SFF would bottleneck it anyways. Your better off getting a low end single slot GPU. Try this 750TI: https://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/msi-video-card-n750ti2gd5tlp Its very small and its single slot, and your CPU wouldn't bottleneck it too bad.

measure from the PCIe slot to the next impeding structure and then check against the size of the card you want. any decent website is going to list the length of the card in the specs.

if it truly is "PCI" as you stated and not "PCIe" then you may have an issue. there aren't many cards available anymore designed for PCI slots.

check Newegg.com and in your graphics card search check the PCI slot and uncheck AGP & PCIe. will return list of PCI only cards.

I checked the pcs owners manual and it does say that it has a PCI express x1 slot and a PCI x16 graphics slot
