Hey, i have question. I want to buy new 144hz monitor benq xl2411z or Asus vg248qe, but idk IF my laptop can run it, gpu in my laptop is nvidia gtx 850m and i've got only VGA and hdmi. Is here any way to get 144hz from this laptop? Sorry for my bad eng.

Solution
You would need a monitor that supports 120+ Hz over HDMI. The HDMI ports on the VG248QE and XL2411Z are limited to 60 Hz.

I would recommend the ViewSonic XG2401 or XG2402 if you want to run 120+ Hz over HDMI.

It depends on the game.

Which version of the 850M do you have? (DDR3 or DDR4)
You can check it via Nvidia inspector.

I had a laptop with this GPU (DDR3) and it's really not that powerfull.
I had to use it on low at 900p to be able to get 30-50FPS in Dying Light for example.

The hdmi 1.4 is able to throw 1080p 120 FPS.
So yes technically you can.
After that, it depends on your hardware.

I've seen benchmark, and according to them maxed out, the GTX 850m is able to render is at 70-80FPS so lowering some settings you could achieve 100-120FPS

Here you have someone having 130 FPS on Low :
