I have a motherboard with 8 DIMM slots, 4 on either side.
A1 - A2 - B1 - B2 - CPU - D2 - D1 - C2 - C1
Can I install 4 sticks one on side A1-A2-B1-B2?
Due to cable management in my small case, it would be easier to install 4 sticks on one side instead 2 on either side. My mobo power cable is getting in the way and I'm a bit worried about it putting pressure on one of the sticks when installed on either side as recommended by the mobo manual.
Will I be losing any performance? I don't have a need to overclock.
Mobo: ASUS x-99 Pro
CPU: Intel core i7 5820K 3.30GHZ (J506B170) 6 cores, 12 threads
RAM: 4x 8GB 2400MHZ Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 PC4-19200
Thanks!
