Question Can I install an additional SSD before first boot up on a new laptop?

Hey everyone! I got a new Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop and wanted to install the additional Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVME M.2 i ordered along side it. Is it better to boot up for the first time and setup before installing the additional SSD or can I install it before first boot up? Specs are below.

Intel i7-9750H, GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD
