Can i install Games from an external DVD drive ?

My internal DVD drive died and i need to install a new game ( which i have pre-ordered ) .

I have planned to buy a external dvd drive( transcend ), because that would be useful for my ultrabook too.

Can i install Games from an external DVD drive ?

You certainly can. The speed of installation will likely be slower than with the internal drive if you have a USB 2.0 external drive. If your external DVD supports USB 3.0 or eSATA, and you connect it to one of those ports, then it will be as fast as your internal drive.
