I have two HP laptops. One of the laptops has a 500gb hard drive. The other has a 32gb. I want to put the 500gb hard drive into the laptop with the 32gb hard drive
Most likely no because that 32gb hdd is probably ide and not sata. Only very old hdds are that small. If you have laptop models, I could check to make sure. Keep in mind, you'd also need to do a clean install of windows.

That 32GB drive is either very, very old, or an embedded eMMC drive.
Neither of which are interchangeable with a regular laptop size drive in a current system.
What is the make/model of the system with the 32GB drive?
Then it's not a hdd but an ssd of some sort. If could be embedded so you still need to give model numbers to be sure. The laptop model is printed on the laptop if you don't know it. You could also run speccy to get the hardware info.
Ok but the laptop is new as far as i know and the other laptop already has windows installed
A "new" laptop with a 32GB drive is almost certainly an eMMC drive, in a little netbook/notebook thing.
Not changeable, and there is no connection for a regular HDD or SSD.
"almost certainly", awaiting details on the make/model.
HP stream laptop 14ax0XX does not have a slot for a hdd. The 32gb is eMMC. You can increase the storage by removing the wifi card and getting a mpcie ssd. If you still need wifi, you can use a usb wifi adapter.
