There are programs that copy the whole drive to another drive (ex. from a HDD to a SDD). There is one called Acronis Backup & Recovery but it's $75. It is really easy to use. But I mean, REALLY, as made for dummies.
Other free and good solutions would be ShadowCopy V2.02 (http://www.runtime.org/shadow-copy.htm) or Clonezilla (http://clonezilla.org/).
In resume, no. You are not supposed to lose any kind of data if you do it properly.
