Can I only use DDR4 2400/2133 RAM with the I7 6950x CPU?

Reading the intel site it says that the supported memory is DDR4 2400/2133. Would there be any benefit or compatibility issues using a higher MHz memory such as DDR4 3000?

That's simply the base spec, the 6950X can run 3000 and even higher 😉 Just like a 6600K is 2133 spec, I'm running 3200 DRAM (in sig)

Thanks. Would there be any benefit to running a higher spec RAM since it is only rated for 2400/2133 at the CPU level? Would the CPU be the bottle neck in this situation?

Performance wise, I can see and feel a difference when I drop the DRAM to 2133, it will show most often in multitasking, using memory centric apps and even some games, Fallout 4 loves fast DRAM and other games games are utilizing DRAM more and more, both as far as speed and amounts
