I'd like to know how much I can overclock my i5-4690K safely with these specs-

CPU- i5-4690K
PSU - Corsair VS650
GPU - GTX 970(Zotac)
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z97M-D3H
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 8GB

Thanks.

Solution
Get a temperature monitor like real temp and slowly work your way up with the overclocking. You wont get as far as you would with a closed loop watercooler (Or a fully watercooled rig) but you should be able to overlclock a bit.

Make sure you stress test for a prolonged period of time to make sure temps are fine

Depends on whether you got a golden chip or not. Most 4960K's will all overclock to at least 4GHz and the golden chips max at like 4.5/4.6 (But thats watercooled) Im thinking maybe 3.8/3.9 GHz

Oh, I get it. Well, I haven't even seen my new PC yet. It's probably being assembled right now at home. It sucks that I'm not back for another 4 days. Can't wait to see my new rig. You know the craziest part...
I'm upgrading from a 550 Ti to a GTX 970. The last processor I had was a Core 2 Duo E7200. Heck I didn't even have a 64-Bit system!!!

4.4ghz is easily doable with the evo, if you don't push in too much voltage. Expect about 1.15v for 4.4ghz. You'll probably get limited around 4.5-4.6ghz with the evo, only high end air coolers or high end closed loop coolers (noctua nh-d14, dark rock 3, corsair h100i or even better noctua nh-d15) will do more than that.
