I own an Intel Core i5 4690k, Nvidia GTX 970 Zotac AMP! Extreme Edition, 8GB 1866 MHz RAM, H81 motherboard and a 700 watts 80+ Gold Certified PSU. Can I play Grand Theft Auto V at 1920x1080 resolution on ultra settings with Anti-Aliasing enabled? Thanks in advance. :)

Hey there,

I can confirm, after having the game for about a week on my rig, that a GTX 970 can easily max out this game at 1080p. Here's my build:

- Asus Maximus Hero VI z87 MOBO
- i7-4770k CPU
- 8GB Kingston HyperX 1866mhz RAM
- Asus Strix NVidia GTX 970 4GB GPU
- 2x Seagate 2tb SSHD
- Corsair CXM 750w PSU

I easily get a solid 60fps with all sliders and settings maxed out and TXAA on. The only thing I had to turn down was MSAA to x4 instead of x8.
Also, I...

It's unreleased so i cannot confirm but it most likely will be able to as the GTX 970 is a very strong card.

I've heard of a bug with the GTX 970 and because of that it doesn't use 4gb but 3,5.

Is this going to be a problem?

It's not a bug...! it's just the 970 gtx inself but...trust me, all people are raging really too much imoh. It's like windows virtual swap memory.
The 970 gtx have 3.5gb + 0.5gb vram in 2 separate chip. The 0.5ram is about 1/8 slower and will be used ONLY when the main vram is full and you will have some microlag...some seconds nothing more, nothing really important like everyone are worried. By the way for 1080p your setup should be enough. Sorry for bad english

Thanks man! All those angry people where getting me worried!

Btw you english is awesome (and so are you:))

Yes but then 25-40 FPS in car.

Ive got GTX 970
i7 4970k
16GB ram

but a 5400rpm HDD maybe that's why I get like 59fps and then it will drop down to like 17fps until I die and restart.

On my 5400rpm HDD i have windows 8.1 but the drive is from my broken laptop. Do you think my frame rate will stay high if I buy windows 8.1 pro and install it on this extra SSD I have. I can't clone my OS to the SSD for some reason. I need to buy windows anyway as this is a new built computer and it deactivated itself.

Also, I recently got a 4k TV and, with just a slight overclock and no AA, I can get a solid 60fps at 4k with all settings on high and the extended distance scaling set to about half.
Even with the memory usage showing about 3800MB, I see no micro-stutter associated with the memory layout controversy surrounding the GTX 970. This game really is optimized well if I'm able to get a solid 60fps at 4k with high settings with a single GTX 970.
