Start it up and enter the BIOS (F9 or F10 can't remember) Then select English. Then on the first menu there is a selection for Rom Udpate. Select that (Make sure USB Drive is plugged in BEFORE you turn it on) Then the next menu select USB Device and press F10 then it should list the file and then i think F10 again and it should update.

I'm afraid not, as Hp haven't released a microcode update for the BIOS to allow the core 2 quad.

No E6700 Is Max. it will NOT take ANY Quad core CPU's or any E7XXX or E8XXX C2D
